If you’re big into following along fashion influencers, you have probably heard of the legend known as We Wore What. Danielle Bernstein, founder of WWW and her newly launched line, Second Skin Overalls, kills the fashion influencer game. When scrolling through her Instagram profile alone, you immediately notice her 1.5 million follower count. How? How can that even happen?
Well, I’ve taken some time to analyze WWW’s language, voice and direction - and I have to say, she and her team are 110% doing it right. From a visual aspect, WWW’s consistency with color tones and hues, scenery and juxtaposition are extraordinary. WWW updates her Instagram with a new post at least 3-5 times a day. To some new bloggers, 3 times a day may seem like way too much, but when you’ve been consistently building your empire for 5 years, you get to make your own rules.
WWW’s engagement rate is above and beyond what brands look for. Why? Because content curator Danielle Bernstein keeps it short, sweet and to the point. Simple captions that direct users to what they want, keep people coming back for more. I can say for myself that I have instantly gone to WWW’s feed if I am looking for an on trend item to purchase. I just scroll through her feed and click on the photo that showcases the type of item I want. Her simplistic message of ‘tap for credits’ makes it all the easier to trust her: no nonsense in the caption like what she had for breakfast, how she’s feeling that day, what time she has her dentist appointment - just tags to the products she wants you to enjoy.
Her editing style of her blog posts and visual assets come off in a very simplistic and minimalist way - which is honestly so cool considering most of what WWW writes about and wears is all high fashion brands. Many people may not be able to afford those brands, but the way WWW presents them makes it welcoming and not intimidating to learn more.
The other thing I think that team WWW does so well, is they never ever miss a beat. From staying up to date with industry related news and articles, to informing users of their next big trip or shoot, the WWW social media platforms and website are never outdated.
It’s hard to run your own business - multiple in Danielle’s case, while creating intriguing content for a huge, ever evolving audience. In my opinion, Danielle Bernstein and team are killing it.
